Pulpit Rock or Preikestolen, Prekestolen in Norwegian, is one of the areas most profound turist attractions. This natural rock formation with a 25 meter squared plateau stands 604 meters above the sea. Thousands of tourists visit the Rock every year. The trip takes about two hours by foot, but the rock formation can also be enjoyed from the sea by boat. The original name of the rock formation is "Hyvlatonnå" - which means the tooth of a woodplane. Todays name could have its origin in the shape or possibly be due to that it might have been a place of

sacrifice

i hope pple basejump off this thing lol
LOL !
I so wanna to see that place!
this place is not ideal for basejumping but further down the fjord there's a place called Kjerag wich is perfect.
Norway is is full of breathtaking landscapes and if you've got the opportunity i would recomend the Lofoten Islands in the north.
Lord Dizzy
Dont listen to him, lofoten is full of crazy people, go to the mountains of nordmore. And the southern and middle fjords.
The picture of the two persons standing on a rock is actually another location on the opposite side of the same fjord (Lysefjorden) which is kalled Kjerag The rock they are standing on is called Kjeragbolten (litterary 'The Kjerag Bolt'). It's approx. 3000 ft straight down below them, and it's close to this place people basejump.
If you ever visit the Pulpit Rock, be sure to check out the cool updrift along the vertical cliff-face by the path! Try to spit and throw things and watch it fly :)
heh we just did that a couple of weeks ago :P
